I owned the older ET73 model and decided to upgrade. This new model is significantly better in every way. It has a longer range, the probes are more heavy duty, and it is easier to use. I highly recommend this product.

The instructions fail to tell you that you must hit the LIGHT/MODE button to save settings.
The FOOD probe allows you to select a setting between 32 F to 572 F, (if you cook meat to over 500 degrees you can use it for charcoal).
The BARBECUE probe allows that you are going to heat the grill between 140 F to 260 F
This is clearly backwards, I tried to reverse the probs, but the display showed HHH.
It works in my smoker where the tempature is around 225 F but not in the grill where the tempature goes higher than 260 F.
Although the FOOD probe reads 10 degrees high it is not a problem, since I anticipate the higher reading.
This is a workable instrument in a smoker if you want to try it in a grill put the BARBECUE probe in the meat and leave the FOOD probe in the grill.

First time using the temp was showing that the turkey was done in the smoker, but it was clearly too soon. I tried a regular cooking thermometer and saw a 50 degree differential. So now what? Which do you trust? I got a third one and found that it was the Maverick wireless at fault.
